The Golden Divine by Monica Barry

The bright purple petals glow golden and shine

In the meadow of eternity where time does not pass

I rest my head in the world that is solely mine

The gold radiates from the bloom with much to define

Where nothing lies as dull as rusty brass

The bright purple petals glow golden and shine

Wind licking the tips of my fingers, there is nothing that is as fine

As my toes nuzzling into the thick, luscious grass

I rest my head in the world that is solely mine

How have I become so lucky to live in a world that is divine

Where living creatures grace the meadow with class

The bright purple petals glow golden and shine

Nibbles of cheese and sips of white wine

A flowing creek that is home to the healthy bass

I rest my head in the world that is solely mine

Green leaves creeping through the rustic vine

A world with a wondrous haze as if peering through glass

The bright purple petals glow golden and shine

I rest my head in the world that is solely mine
