Dear Paniagua by Carmen Hurtado Aragon

I don’t think I have to introduce myself to you

You know pretty much everything about me

From my childhood mistakes to my childhood achievements

But that’s all you know

You are my childhood memory that I hold so deeply

That I don’t want to let go

Then the good side of me

is going to leave me too.

I am not who I was when we were children

Because I see the way you’ve changed

And yes I want to say change is good

But even when I want to see you

and talk to you

I’m too afraid

Because if you see how much I have changed

I’m afraid you’ll change too.
